Windows may warn you the first time. The build is code‑signed, but SmartScreen wants a reputation as well as a signature, and a new certificate earns that one download at a time. If the blue panel shows, click More info. The publisher line should read Keiran Brentley Jacob Hoag, which is the name on the certificate. Then Run anyway.

Plugins

Optional parts are separate zips, so the main download stays small. Unzip one into the folder with douga.exe and restart. Delete its files to take it back out.

Extra video formats

MP4, MOV, M4V, AVI and WMV already import with nothing installed. Douga-VideoImport.zip opens the rest (WebM, MKV, ProRes) through an ffmpeg you install yourself. The Other [FFmpeg] export is already in the main download and uses the same ffmpeg. The manual walks you through getting it.

Update check

Douga-UpdateCheck.zip adds Help → Check for Updates, which also installs new versions of these add-ons for you. It's the only part of Douga that touches the network, which is why it's separate: without it the app opens no sockets at all.

Pose packs

Douga-Poses.zip puts Eadweard Muybridge's motion studies from 1878 and 1887 on the File → Import → Pose shelf: 13.7 MB of public-domain photographs. A pack is a folder of numbered images, so your own reference works too.

Krita and SAI brushes

Douga-BrushConvert.zip lets Import brush... on the brush shelf take Krita presets and bundles and PaintTool SAI brushes, and turns them into Douga brushes. Only convert brushes you have the right to use.

License

Every feature is free for any use, and a license key only takes the mark off your exports. The terms are short and ship in the zip as EULA.txt.

Was any of this built with AI?

Some of Douga's source code was written with AI assistance. That's disclosed on the itch.io page and it's the same answer here.

The program itself has no generative features: nothing in it invents or finishes a drawing, and it doesn't send your work anywhere.
